A cash bond provides a severe obstacle for family or friends wishing to use the services of a bondsman. Phoenix bail bond companies generally do not post cash bonds, they post Surety Bonds. Surety Bonds are backed by a promise to pay the full amount of bail in cash if the defendant fails to appear for his hearing or fails to comply with the Court’s conditions of release; a paper promise is delivered to the court, not cash. However, court-ordered cash bonds must be posted in cash before the defendant can be released from jail.

Cash bonds that guarantee the defendant’s appearance in court, if the bond is not paid in full by the client, will require the use of collateral for security. Our cash bond rates are dependant upon the quality of the collateral and its dollar value. Other factors that govern rates are based on the risk associated with the defendant. Fees generally charged range from 30% to 50% of the bond amount, where a 50% fee may be charged for a low to no collateral bond.
